Russ Mills likes cheap Bic biro pens. He uses them to sketch his beautiful portraits of friends and Japanese street urchins. He likes them so much that he gave them a shout out in his artist pseudonym: "Byroglyphics". Russ also likes cows. In the British countryside where he lives, he once came across the surreal scene of a renegade cow driving a tractor. It seems to have made a lasting impression and now cow and horse heads crop up in his paintings, perched on his subjects’ heads like masks, making them look like mythical creatures. Now grab a peice of what Russ himself calls "His kitchen sink surrealisum" .
